ICBPS- Iranian Monarchist prisoner Khaled Pirzadeh, who was repeatedly beaten in prison and was unable to walk, went on a hunger strike again to plea for his basic rights.

The Iranian Jailed Monarchist, whose prison beatings left him unable to walk, started an infinite hunger strike on May 31, 2021, after authorities barred him from even receiving proper medical attention.

“I have been imprisoned for 25 months now. I am in poor physical and mental condition. I am also barred from visiting my family and furlough. But now, my wife has been infected with COVID19 and she is not in a good condition at all. In addition, not only does my wife has a nurse to care for, but my young daughter also has to stay away from her mother for being an immune barrier against the virus,” Khaled wrote in a letter.

Currently, he is serving his seven years sentence at the Greater Tehran Penitentiary.

Previously, he went on a hunger strike in jail by even sewing his lips to protest the inhuman condition of prisons, being prevented from medical treatment, and lack of safety for political prisoners.

The hunger strike has lasted four days now.

Khaled is a bodybuilder athlete who attended the World Regional Championship 2018 in Singapore.

Khaled Pirzadeh has been barred from being sent to a medical center despite deteriorating physical and mental health.

The monarchist prisoner has been beaten multiple times by the prison wardens to the point of needing a wheelchair.

According to his lawyer, on September 14, 2020, Khaled has continuously been beaten for complaining about his treatment.

He had complained about the plan of the security guards to transfer him to another ward of the prison, which prompted the guard to retaliate by striking him on the knee, VOA quoted his lawyer.

The Islamic Revolutionary Court, chaired by the infamous Judge Moghiseh, sentenced him to seven years in prison for vague charges of “assembly and collusion against the regime in Iran” and “insulting the Supreme Leader.”

In February 20201, Khaled, along with three other prisoners, went on a hunger strike at Tehran notorious Evin prison, protesting the denial of his request for parole, neglecting political prisoners requests, not conforming to the prison classification regulation, lengthy prosecutions, receiving unreasonable prison sentences, and finalizing the primary court’s verdicts without an opportunity to appeal.
