ICBPS MORNING BRIEF: Trump Calls On Iran Not To Hang Iranian Wrestler
ICBPS MORNING BRIEF– The U.S. President Donald Trump has urged the Islamic Republic of Iran authorities to reverse a death penalty against a champion wrestler Navid Afkari convicted of murder during nationwide anti-regime Iran Protests in 2018.
“Hearing that Iran is looking to execute a great and popular wrestling star, 27-year-old Navid Afkarai, whose sole act was an anti-government demonstration on the streets. They were protesting the ‘country’s worsening economic situation and inflation,’” President Trump wrote on his account.

“To the leaders of Iran, I would greatly appreciate if you would spare this young man’s life, and not execute him. Thank you!” President Trump added.
On August 28, the exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi urged international sports entities, athletes, and wrestlers worldwide to stand up to Navid Afkari, as he stood up to save others.
Navid Afkari, a young Iranian wrestler, stood up for the rights of his people and for that, the regime in Iran has sentenced him to death.
