SWEDEN SUES COMEDIAN – LOSES!
Sweden’s “neutrality” during the Second World War is still a sensitive subject in the Nordic country. The new book “This is A Swedish Tiger” reveals Sweden as a quiet and lenient fourth axis power during the Second World War. Writing and publishing the book got Swedish comedian, of jewish heritage, Aron Flam sued by the state.

Author and comedian Aron Flam is as insightful as he is funny. The pages burn with calm rage, sprinkled with cynical witticism. He has previously won awards for his stand-up comedy, now he has won his freedom.
“This is A Swedish Tiger” is comedian and satirist Aron Flam´s reckoning with Sweden´s official historical account, its exploits and leniency towards Nazi-Germany during the Second World War, and crumbling self-image of goodness and tolerance. An entire edition of the book was seized by armed Swedish police in June 2020 in connection to a legal dispute about the book´s cover, but the controversy surrounding the book extends far beyond its cover.
Flam´s questioning of Sweden as a self-proclaimed moral superpower and the world´s most peaceful, equal and environmentally aware society, still strikes a tender nerve in the collective subconsciousness of many Swedes, national leaders and state institutions. Aron Flam examines Swedish history, and deep within the collective silence, he finds the truth that “The Swedish Tiger” has done everything possible to hide for almost a century. In light of the strenuous efforts to suppress the book following its release in Sweden, it appears as though the Swedish Tiger remains dead set on keeping the past out of the light of the present.
This is A Swedish Tiger is now available in English for the first time, and can be downloaded as an e-book on Amazon.com. A limited-edition print version will be available at the end of November but can be pre-ordered at aronflam.com/merchandise
