ICBPS– On August 19, the United States designated IRGC Mahan Air facilitators for reported transporting military equipment and terrorists on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI).
“The United States continued its optimal pressure project against Iran by designating two businesses and one individual for procuring parts for Mahan Air, a Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity,” according to the State Department Press Release.
The U.S. State Department expressed that Mahan Air has a long record of transporting weapons and terrorists worldwide for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s IRGC.
In a statement released on Wednesday, August 20, 2020, the State Department announced that Washington designated Parthia Cargo and Delta Parts, both based in the UAE, pursuant to E.O. 13224, as amended, for providing material support to Mahan Air, which is also designated pursuant to E.O. 13224.
“The United States likewise designated Amin Mahdavi, an Iranian national, under the same authority,” said the State Department.
The designation was carried out against the so-called Mahan Airline because of its role to fulfill activities in support of Tehran’s malign agenda. Mahan is the IRGC terror airline.
“Today, Washington continued its maximum pressure campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran by designating two businesses and one individual for procuring parts for Mahan Air,” the CNBC quoted the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
On the other hand, the Department of Justice filed a criminal lawsuit against Mahdavi and Parthia Cargo, declaring that they facilitated delivery shipment to Iran of U.S.-origin items, including industrial airplane parts, in violation of the U.S. law.
Today’s designations serve as a reminder that individuals or businesses who supply/provide services for IRGC’s Mahan Air risk the U.S. sanctions: The State Department.
“We will continue our efforts until IRI acts (behaves) like a normal nation and stops its malign activities,” expressed the State Department.
The Islamic Republic of Iran bolsters terrorism by using airliners as “Human Shield” tactics, experts believe.
Further, IRGC-affiliated Mahan Air is blamed for spreading the Coronavirus in the Middle East.
The airliner, also known as IRGC-Air, works as a tool for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s expansionist policies, including the transfer of revolutionary guards personnel and logistics for FTO-IRGC and proxy militias in the region.
Mahan Air Company was established shortly after the formation of the Quds Forces as an overseas arm of the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps). The airliner was registered in Kerman, southeastern Iran, where IRGC Commander (dead terrorist) Qasem Soleimani was born.
